1) What exactly is Injectable Dermal Fillers?

2) What does Injectable Dermal Fillers treat?

3) Who can do Dermal Fillers?

Any male and female adults can have fillers injections. Those looking for fast, non-surgical anti-wrinkle procedures to plump up deep facial lines and who want a solution with no, or very limited recovery time, are ideal candidates.

Any medications or supplements taken should be disclosed to the physician, as they may increase bleeding and bruising at the injection sites.

Pregnant or nursing women are not eligible for Dermal Filler Injections. Also, any person with an infection near the injection site should postpone treatment until the infection is resolved. Furthermore, there is a greatly increased risk of serious side effects in patients with any pre-existing neuromuscular disorder.


4) What does Dermal Filler treatment involve?

Prior to treatment, a numbing cream or ice can be applied to make the treatment more comfortable, and to help reduce bruising or swelling.

Small needles are used to inject the dermal filler into the second layer of skin, providing lift and volume. The treatment can take anywhere from 15-40 minutes to complete, depending on the treatment area.

After the treatment, patients can simply go about their day, but Dr. Zacharia provides advice on what should be avoided directly after the treatment.


5) Are Dermal Fillers painful?

The treatment should be relatively painless or mildly uncomfortable, some areas may be more sensitive than others. Injectable Dermal Fillers provide immediate results with a minimal amount of discomfort and downtime.


6) How many treatments are needed?

Everybody has a different metabolism, and temporary fillers have many factors that may affect when patients need to return for another treatment. On average, most patients will do another temporary filler injection after eight-to-twelve months from their last treatment. Therefore Dermal Fillers may be done at least once a year or twice if necessary.


7) Are there any side effects involved?

In both temporary there are always possible side effects that can occur. The injection itself should cause minimal discomfort, and while the patient may experience some side effect, they are generally temporary and injection-site related.


8) Are Dermal Fillers really safe?

9) How long do Dermal Fillers last?
